Fabric/Materials
The feel of this bra is incredible. It is by far the nicest bra that
I have ever worn. The body straps and cups are a beautiful soft lace
and the cups are delicately lined with an 80% polyester/ 20% spandex
blend fabric that are silky to the touch. The cups have under wire
and the straps are adjustable at the shoulder as well as 3 hook and
eye adjustments at the back. There are nursing hooks at each top of
the breast, attached to the strap. The lace makes a gentle scalloped
design around the edges. There is a small ribbon of the rubber-like-material
(like what's at the top of thigh highs to keep them in place) along
the top edges of the cups. This helps the bra stay in position and
feel like a second skin.
How it wears
This bra is so comfortable on, I forgot I was even wearing it. The
under wire lies nicely against the skin and I didn't have any trouble
with it bunching or pinching at all. The satin feel of the lining
against my breasts were wonderful, especially for when you have sore
nipples. There are two stretchy straps that lay on either side of
the breasts, making an upside down V that provides them with support
and actually makes the breasts slope to a gentle point so it is easier
to breast feed. The cups fold completely under the breasts so the
baby has easier access to the breasts and you don't have to fight
with keeping the cups out of the baby's face. When the cups are attached,
it gently snugs into your body, providing good support and pushing
the breasts up gently. It has a pocket that is ½ the size of
the cup inside the lower half of the cup to accommodate a nursing
pad. The nursing hooks at the straps are smooth and easy to do/undo
with one hand.
In measuring my self, I should have been a 34B, knowing that this
size is not comfortable for me, I went with the bra size I generally
feel comfortable wearing, 36B. Now keep in mind my baby was born
in April of 2006, so I don't have as much engorgement as I did while
pregnant or at the beginning stages of nursing. Depending on where
you are at with the pregnancy/nursing, you should buy the size accordingly.
When my breasts were fully engorged, the cups were just slightly
small; I would have done well with a C cup. But once they were emptied,
it fit like it should again. Even though I could have gone up a
size in the cup, I did not feel like the bra was too tight or constricting
in any way, it just made for more cleavage.
Recommendations
This bra covers it all. It's beautiful, comfortable, and functional.
I would recommend getting the size you wear about 2 months prior to
giving birth, as it should fit nicely about 2 months after giving
birth so you get the most bang for your buck. In my experience, I
didn't want a bra on after birth anyway due to my sensitive and sore
nipples. A loose t-shirt was all I could stand unless I was going
out and had to wear a bra.
I wish I had gotten this bra a long time ago. There is no bulky
padding to deal with or extra material to get in the way when wearing,
washing, or storing it. The problem I had with the regular nursing
bras (and some bras in general) is that the padding shifts around
when you wash it and it never really lays smooth again under clothing.
This piece is very smooth and looks absolutely amazing under clothing,
even a tight fitting shirt. No torpedo tits here. I will wear the
Belle bra even after I stop nursing, it is THAT comfortable and
sexy to boot.
Special care instructions
This bra can be machine washed in cold water, but do not use bleach.
It should then be laid flat to dry. I would definitely recommend using
a net garment bag and clasping the bra hooks together so they don't
snag on the lace or get the bra all twisted up. This should limit
the wear and tear that the machine places on garments and preserve
the life of this beautiful bra. Something I found nice about the lining
was, when I leaked just a little bit, it dried very quickly and didn't
get onto my shirt. However, if you have a large milk supply and might
leak, it's always a good idea to put in a pad to protect you from
any embarrassing moments. |
